Our Mission

A successful future is predicated on building a strong foundation. We do this by providing a safe, stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment, in conjunction with a quality educational curriculum that assists the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of all children.

Our Philosophy

The institution of the family lies at the center of the success of every Orthodox community. It is in the family dynamic that dedicated Christians grow and thrive. It is in the family context where Christian values and the Orthodox way of life are instilled and adopted by tomorrow’s generation.

Our Faculty

Our bi-lingual Archangels Academy faculty is comprised of faithful and committed teaching professionals who bring their love of education to the classroom daily. Our small class size ensures that all students get the attention they need to thrive.

Sofea Malamis

A long time member of the Archangels Academy family, Ms. Sofea has been involved with our program for over 13 years, both as a parent and as a teacher., She has a passion for early learning, especially enriching young minds through play and mindful experiences. Ms. Sofea has completed extensive training in the Jolly Phonics Literacy Program, Teaching Strategies and Montessori instruction.

Katerina Alexakos

Our beloved Kyria Katerina has been teaching Greek language and culture at our Academy for 15 years. Kyria Katerina implements modern pedagogical methods and practices in her lessons while being supportive and encouraging to our students. She attends yearly teacher workshops hosted by the Department of Greek Education of the Metropolis of Chicago and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Angela Evangelopoulos

Shaping student experiences, Ms. Angela develops and cultivates a love of learning in our students. She currently works as a Behavior Therapist where she assesses and addresses behavioral needs of widely varying individuals as she builds skills and achievements of children. Ms. Angela oversees the social-emotional component of our program and helps our students develop healthy behaviors that will benefit them for years to come.

Reverend Father Tilemahos Alikakos

Serving the community of St. Spyridon for over 15 years, Fr. Tilemahos’ priority is the faith formation of our students and their families. He visits the classroom regularly and engages our students with hands on, age appropriate lessons on the Orthodox Faith.
