GREEK LANGUAGE & CULTURE

GREEK SCHOOL PLOUTARCHOS

The Afternoon Greek School is held twice a week on Mondays and Fridays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and recognized by the Education Department of Greece and the FEK 49/T.B./6-2-1991. Grade levels are Pre-School through 8th Grade. The curriculum encompasses the Greek language, Reading, Writing, Speaking, History, Religion, Ecclesiastical Hymns, Geography of Greece, Greek Ethnic Hymns and Greek Dance. Our school is divided into five classes and we have a well educated and experienced staff of 5 teachers. We ask all parents to enroll their children so that our youth will keep in their hearts and minds our Greek heritage, our Greek language and our Greek customs and traditions.

GREEK LANGUAGE SEMINAR

Greek Language Seminar Classes are available to students that have graduated from 6th grade Greek School and are held every Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program includes 20 weekly seminars and is offering to our Greek School graduates the opportunity of higher education and further enrichment of their knowledge of Greek Language, History, Art and Literature. We look to help them stay united to our roots, our Greek Orthodox Faith, morals and customs, our glorious history and wonderful civilization. ADULT GREEK SCHOOL

Adult Greek School classes are available for stewards of St. Spyridon.  Classes are taught by Mr. Demetri Alexakos every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. from September till May. 

DANCE GROUPS

Greek ethnic and cultural dances are taught to children of all ages. There are three levels based on age and skill.  Classes meet every Saturday, with classes at 10:30am, 11:00am & 11:30am.  All youth ages 4-18 are welcome.  The Dancers participate in community ethnic events as well as the parish festival.
